100 Masters – Erin O’Connor

Mastered: Fashion Modelling
Location: Walsall
Nomination: Peer-nominated

Karl Lagerfeld described her as “one of the best models in the world” and when Walsall’s Erin O’Connor first appeared in an i-D editorial shot by Juergen Teller in 1996 she became the go-to fashion icon.

Modelling on the catwalk for the likes of John Galliano, Christian Dior, Donna Karan, Prada, Versace, Miu Miu, Jasper Conran, Giorgio Armani, Julien Macdonald, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Dolce & Gabbana, and working with leading fashion photographers including Nick Knight, Mario Testino, Bryan Adams, Nadav Kander, Erin has featured in top fashion and style magazines including Vogue, W, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Harpers & Queen, i-D, and Visionaire.

In 2009 she co-founded All Walks Beyond the Catwalk alongside Caryn Franklin and Debra Bourne. An award winning initiative that set out to challenge the fashion industry’s dependence on unachievable and limited body and beauty ideals.

Her work in fashion has lead her to become a spokesperson for many worthy charities as well as an Ambassador for ‘Save the Children’.
