Turner prize winning conceptual artist Gillian Wearing OBE RA came to the fore as one of the Young British Artists, and became one of the biggest names in the UK art scene after winning the prize in 1997.

Her work often looks in to people’s lives documenting their behaviours. In her 2001 video installation ‘Broad Street’ she filmed people on a night out on Birmingham’s infamous bar street – following key drinkers the viewers witness how alcohol contributed to their loss of inhibition and control throughout an evening and in to the early hours.
