Craftspace are holding their In:Site Festival 2017 which will see new craft and design graduates creating artworks outdoors everyday.
The festival is taking place from 4 – 8 September 2017*, 11am to 6pm at Birmingham Cathedral Square, Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 2QB, where people can get involved with the making of some of the artworks using different techniques; embroidery, casting in concrete, enamelling, manipulating wire and spinning wool.
Different artists will be working each day and at the end of the week visitors can expect to see the space adorned with twelve new art works including a Camera Obscura, a crocheted chandelier, architectural wire sculptures and a textile tribute to historical figures buried in the graveyard echoing the shape of the Cathedral’s stained glass windows.
*work will be on display until Sunday 10 September inside Bimingham Cathedral & NatWest Bank, 1 St Philips Place.
Craftspace are also having a prize draw where entrants have the chance to win a table for two on the 15th September and a voucher for £150 at the acclaimed Two Cats Kitchen in Birmingham, before chef Niki Astley closes the doors to establish new ventures in the Autumn. Tickets for the prize draw can be purchased online here for £5 each. The draw takes place on 5th September so don’t delay!
