Creative Black Country are working with partners in Wolverhampton and the Black Country to produce Funny Things, a season of events celebrating Black Country’s great humour and comedy.
When reports from the Office of National Statistics stated that Wolverhampton was the unhappiest place in the UK, locals didn’t agree, and now we’re going to prove it isn’t true, with Funny Things; Wolverhampton’s first comedy festival. Statistics don’t tell the whole story.
Events will run between 27th October to 5th November 2017, and we are also looking for activity during half term holidays.
The main drive for the festival is to create opportunities for the local community to participate and have a laugh, alongside well known stand up comedians and a programme developed by Wolves Civic, Arena Theatre, Accord Housing Group and more.
We would like to invite local groups, artists, comedy promoters, arts organisations, comedians, businesses and residents to come and have a glass of wine with us and discuss how you could get involved, to help us make the first comedy festival in Wolverhampton a success.
There will be opportunities to run events, perform, participate and volunteer and you can access some seed awards from up to to £4000.
Come along to find out more and let’s prove Wolverhampton isn’t the most miserable place in the UK!
