45 Books: Creative Writing Workshops for Men

This is the first part of a larger creative project of by Dan Whitehouse which taps into Doris Lessing's belief that "Writing is a machine for exploring experience,” and aims to explore issues surrounding masculinity, self-care, and cultural migration, through the lens of Dan's personal journey.

"After my then 5 year old son moved to Japan in 2019, I turned to journaling as a means of navigating the upheavals in my life. The resulting 45 diaries form the backbone of this creative project, offering insights into parenthood, wellbeing, and identity during this life-altering period. Rick Rubin's notion, “Attuned choice by attuned choice, your entire life is a form of self-expression,” resonates deeply with this endeavour.” Dan Whitehouse
