Celebrating 10 Years: Dudley Creates

From 2020 Creative Associates Kerry + Laura have been working on Dudley Creates where they partnered with local artists, communities, cultural organisations and CoLab Dudley to:

• Curate pop-up workshops, performances and installations

• Support artists through commissions

• Help bring creativity to open spaces across the borough

This collaborative, borough-wide initiative helped showcase local talent, heritage, and imagination, proving that creativity belongs to everyone, everywhere.

Some standout projects included:

• Sound Aloud – A music and sound workshop series with Gavin Rogers

• Portrait of a Place – Poetry and animation workshops led by Nafeesa Hamid + Sarah Taylor Silverwood

• On the High Street –A photography and storytelling residency in Halesowen

• Time Rebels – Helping CoLab Dudley to Imagine creativity in Dudley 100 years into the future

Dudley Creates proved that creativity can thrive anywhere—from canals and tunnels to streets, gardens, community centres and subways.
