Outside In: Gazebo Theatre Launch a New Immersive Projection Experience

In a world that often feels overwhelming, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause. This March, Gazebo Theatre invite audiences to do just that with the premiere of a new immersive projection experience ‘Outside In’ inspired by nature and the changing seasons. Developed as part of the Black Country Digital Firsts programme, the project explores how digital tools can create calming, reflective spaces for audiences to step into.

For Gazebo Theatre, this journey included a research visit to Frameless London, where the team explored how projection mapping and sound can transform environments and bring artwork to life. Inspired by the scale and atmosphere of the immersive exhibition, they returned to Bilston to develop their own more intimate experience.

The result is Outside In, an immersive film that invites visitors into a safe, tranquil space where the outside world is gently brought in. Inspired by nature, the projection takes audiences on a journey through the changing seasons, encouraging us all to slow down, relax, and reflect.

The premiere takes place on Saturday 14 March, with two ways to experience the work.

Experience One – 12pm

A full screening of the 16 minute immersive film, allowing audiences to sit back and enjoy the journey from start to finish.

Experience Two – 2pm

A more flexible drop-in experience where visitors can come and go throughout the hour, with the option to take part in a creative activity inspired by the themes of the installation.

Entry is free, with light refreshments provided, and everyone is welcome to step inside this gentle digital landscape.

The event marks an exciting milestone in Gazebo Theatre’s Digital Firsts journey, showing how new skills, creative experimentation, and a little inspiration can evolve into an experience designed to help audiences reconnect with nature, and with a moment of calm.

Address: Gazebo Theatre, Chancel Court, 2 Wellington Road, Bilston, WV14 6AA
