Three 15 Tipton: Bringing Nature Indoors at Glebefields Library
On a cold February afternoon, Glebefields Library was transformed into a pocket of colour and creativity as part of Three 15’s growing programme in Tipton.
As winter lingered outside, families and local residents stepped into a warm, welcoming space where nature took centre stage. Led by Tipton artist Thea Brown, the session invited participants to create their own collaged leaves and petals, layering them onto a large map of Tipton. The result was a blooming, collective artwork rooted in place and imagination.
Sixteen people of all ages took part, each adding their own textures, colours and stories to the evolving map. It’s a simple idea with powerful impact, bringing nature into the heart of the library and offering a reminder that creativity can flourish anywhere.
This session forms part of Three 15’s trial programming in Tipton, testing out creative activities shaped with and for local communities. By working with artists connected to the area, the programme continues to explore how culture can be woven into everyday spaces, from libraries to community venues, making creativity accessible and visible.
The collaged map will remain as a colourful snapshot of the afternoon, a reminder that even in the depths of winter, Tipton can bloom indoors.
This workshop was a partnership with Sandwell Libraries and The Black Country Housing Group.
