Out of the Darkness is a collaborative art project providing disposable cameras to Wolverhampton’s homeless community.

The pictures and personal narratives incorporated into this exhibition provide an intimate portrayal of the reality of life on the streets of Britain. More importantly, they challenge us to reexamine our stereotypes and to see the homeless through a more sympathetic and human lens.

The project, which has been run though CBC’s Open Access Award by Laura Dicken and Greig Campbell, will feature a selection of the images taken by several of the participants and will be put on display at Wolverhampton Art Gallery during May.

The launch will take place on Saturday 29th April from 1pm – 2pm.

Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Lichfield Street, WV1 1DU.
