Interstellar Sky Junk Workshop Lands in Tipton This April

This April, creativity takes flight at Glebefields Library as families are invited to step into a world of imagination, invention and play.

Part of the Three 15 programme, the Interstellar Sky Junk Workshop is a hands-on, drop-in session where recycled materials are transformed into something truly out of this world. Led by local artist Oliver Clee, the workshop invites children and families to design and build their own spaceships, then bring them to life through playful storytelling and character creation.

Taking place on Wednesday 8 April, 2pm to 4pm, the session is free to attend, with no booking required. Whether you stay for the full workshop or drop in for a quick creative burst, everyone is welcome.

Make, Play, Imagine

At the heart of the session is a simple idea, big creativity can come from everyday materials. Using recycled packaging, cardboard and found objects, participants will be guided to build their own spacecraft, before choosing an avatar to explore their imagined universe.

There’s a strong focus on play, collaboration and curiosity, encouraging children to experiment, invent and tell their own stories.

Bring Your Own Materials

While everything you need will be provided, families are encouraged to bring along their own recycled materials to add to the mix. Leftover Easter packaging, boxes and containers are especially welcome, giving new life to items that might otherwise be thrown away.

Who It’s For

This session is designed for families and children, with all young participants accompanied by an adult. It’s an open, relaxed environment where people can take part at their own pace.
