Willenhall Writers Group at the Wolves Lit Festival

During the 2026 Wolves Literature Festival this month we sent photographer Lee Allen along to capture the group who were invited to appear for their first public performance.

The group, brought together by proud Wolves poet Emma Purshouse, originally started as one of our Creative Community supported projects. Meeting regularly to try their and at creative writing and poetry the group have been supporting each other to use the power of words to create new pieces of writing.

They are also working on a project with filmmaker Amy Hill on how to visualise their works using filming and storytelling in new ways. We can’t wait to see what they get up to.
