CBC’s Workplace Wellbeing Workshops: A creative break for staff teams

The sun shone for our second Workplace Wellbeing Workshop with lovely staff from Paycare.

Here’s a post about the day from Yvonne, CBC’s Fundraising Manager…

We were joined by artist and photographer Tom Hicks a.k.a. Black Country Type who took us on a photo walk around the local environment in Wolverhampton, pointing out unusual letter boxes, signs and shapes we had not really noticed before.

With no previous experience, everyone quickly got into the photography with Tom’s tips and guidance, focusing on the moment and looking at places they thought were very familiar through different eyes.

Just allowing the team to get away from their desks and laptops for an hour to get outside, switch off and reset, whilst getting in some steps and Vitamin D, proved to be very uplifting and mood-boosting.

When we arrived back to the office we all shared our favourite images from the session. Tom was so impressed by the quality of everyone’s photography that he offered to choose his Top 3 photographs.

Well done to; Anna, Rebecca and Nicola. They will each receive one of Tom’s Black Country Type prints.

Anna for ‘No News is No News’

Rebecca for ‘Double Denim’

Nicola for ‘Fusion’

Paycare’s Partnerships Manager told us…

“We are planning to create a gallery of our photos, to be placed up on the top floor as part of our newly created areas. The winning pics will, of course, be taking pride of place!”

Here's what our new photographers said...

"Really enjoyed the experience, noticing things that usually pass you by"

"Loved it! Think I may have found a new passion"

“Brilliant session Really interesting and engaging. Loved getting involved”
