Free Weekend Wellbeing Workshop: Junk Journalling at Merry Hill
Wild Earth Movement is inviting people to step out of hibernation and into a calm, creative space with a free Weekend Wellbeing Workshop focused on junk journalling. Taking place on Friday 21 February from 10am to 1pm at Merry Hill, this gentle morning of making is all about slowing down, looking after your mental health and welcoming the year ahead with intention.
Junk journalling is a relaxed and expressive way of recording memories using found and recycled materials. During the session, participants will learn how to transform old books into personal journals, creating something beautiful from what already exists. Pages can be layered with fabric, beads, magazines, lace and texture, with mess not only allowed but encouraged. There is no right or wrong way to do it, which makes it perfect for complete beginners as well as those who already love to create.
At the heart of the workshop is wellbeing. The morning is designed to give people time away from screens, space to breathe and permission to focus on the present moment. Whether you see yourself as creative or not, you are warmly welcome. It is also ideal as a solo activity, so there is no need to bring anyone with you. Just come as you are.
The organisers aim to create a serene and supportive environment where worries can be set aside and creativity can flow naturally. Alongside crafting, there will be plenty of hot drinks, cakes and snacks available, including vegan and dairy free options, making it a truly nourishing experience for mind and body.
