Creative Black Country is delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, which will see the theatre support community-led creative activity in Wolverhampton through Creative Black Country’s Creative Communities programme.

Between November 2025 and March 2026, Creative Black Country worked with the four Councils for Voluntary Service (CVS) across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton to deliver a series of Creative Communities Go & Sees.

Through support from the Creative Black Country’s Creative Communities strand, the Creative Moms Support Network recently delivered a series of creative wellbeing sessions designed specifically for mothers of neurodivergent and SEND children across the Black Country.

In February, Wild Earth Movement hosted a free Weekend Wellbeing Workshop at Merry Hill, inviting people to step away from screens and spend a calm, creative morning learning the art of junk journalling.

Artist Jo Essen facilitated 4 workshops in Bilston at the latter end of 2025 supported by our Creative Communities strand of work. This is Your Crafternoon at Bilston Library was all about collaboration, co-creation and community.

Last week at Brownhills Community Centre, The Lamp’s Friendship Group and Places of Welcome UK coffee morning welcomed guests to get creative with a hands on Clay Tile Workshop led by artist Ruth Radcliffe.

During the 2026 Wolves Literature Festival this month we sent photographer Lee Allen along to capture the group who were invited to appear for their first public performance.

Wild Earth Movement is inviting people to step out of hibernation and into a calm, creative space with a free Weekend Wellbeing Workshop focused on junk journalling.

Feedback is more than a form at the end of a project. It is how ideas grow, how trust is built and how creative work stays responsive to the people it is made with.

Earlier this month, a warm and welcoming space was created in the Black Country as the Beyond One Culture event brought people together for a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture and connection. Supported through our Creative Communities strand, the one day event invited people from across the region to share in live music, performance, art and food, creating an atmosphere that felt open, joyful and deeply human.

Earlier this year, we commissioned a project with Misfits Music through our Creative Communities strand, to work with their Tipton Rock Collective, an inclusive community rock group for adults that meet regularly to rehearse and perform rock music in Tipton, Sandwell.

In a leafy corner of Willenhall Memorial Park, something quietly powerful has been growing. What began as a casual conversation during a walk through Fibbersley Nature Reserve has blossomed into a vibrant writing group rooted in creativity, community and connection to place.
