During lockdown many of us have suffered from not seeing our families so Barbara and Marta came up with the Love Letters to Family + Friends project that would use creative postcards and collaging to connect with a message of love to those we miss the most.
F WORDS - Love Letters
Lucky residents in Smethwick have been invited to take part in a new F WORDS project by Barbara Gibson and Marta Kochanek. Love Letters offers seniors, the separated and isolated families the opportunity to create their own postcards using materials, including the images above and below, from a pack of materials to send a note to their loved ones.
Creative Communities - a Calendar of positivity for 2021
During 2020 CBC’s Creative Advisor for Sandwell, Richard, worked with Bally from the Sandwell Asian Mental Health Group to put together a calendar of positivity. With a tough year getting used to lockdowns and social distancing the members of the group worked in new ways online and via the phone to design and produce these positive messages to take us through the year ahead.

Creative Connections: Poster Positivity by Foka Wolf
Poster Positivity is designed to increase unity and wellbeing in Sandwell by sharing images of hope and happiness around the community. The project is run by Foka Wolf, a satirical artist who uses posters in his work to tackle serious issues with humour.
Creative Connections: Milcote Assembled by A.L.I CIC
Milcote Assembled is a project focusing on making connections on one road in Bearwood. This road is Milcote Road. The project aims to get people to connect with one another through a series of small ‘operations’ over the course of a few weeks. This will be done through anonymous communications.

Caring Cooks release recipe cards and videos to help food bank users
A group of young people from Sandwell have come together to produce a series of short videos and recipe cards to help inspire and support families on low incomes to create healthy meals.
Back in 10 on the High Street
The independent cafe, fashion and grocery store, hairdresser and beauty salon, tailor, market stall, and takeaway are regular sights in Black Country towns and this September they are being celebrated and used as inspiration for a new set of performances.
