We produce several Landmark Projects each year. These are our larger-scale events where we engage with the community putting them at the heart of each idea. In 2016 we produced two Landmark Projects; Imagine That! and Desi Pubs. You can read more about the projects by clicking the links. In 2017 we produced 100 Masters and Black Country comedy festival ‘Funny Things’. During 2018 we will be continuing our work with 100 Masters and Desi Pubs as well as introducing a new project The Singh Twins - Slaves of Fashion.
Creative Black Country are looking to work with communities in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Sandwell to explore, participate and develop creative projects in the places where they live.
Creative Communities is a 3-year development programme that will help you to connect with artists, arts organisations and spaces (museums, theatres, fab labs). We will work with you to experiment and trial different activities, then build your ability to fundraise, programme and promote exciting cultural experiences in your community.
The Open Access Award supports activities that build audiences and promote creative and artistic excellence across the Black Country. Whether you’re a professional artist, performer or community group who have never experienced an arts activity before, this could be for you. Open Access is open to individuals, groups and organisations in Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. Open Access is a flexible award to support the seed of a great idea through to the growth of a great project.
WELCOME TO CBC
CBC is a campaign which aims to make the most of creative talent in the Black Country. We work with local people to discover, explore and grow an exciting and meaningful programme of arts activity in the Black Country.
You can help shape what you want to see and participate in your area through our community activities programme ‘Creative Communities’ or develop your own ideas through our ‘Open Access Award’.
We will also work with local arts partners and develop large scale arts projects and festivals.
We are part of the national Arts Council England Creative People and Places scheme, which encourages more people to experience the arts.

Funny Things 2019!
When reports from the Office for National Statistics stated that Wolverhampton was the unhappiest place in the UK, locals didn’t agree, so in 2017 we introduced Wolverhampton’s newest comedy festival and now Funny Things is back in 2019.
Join us for giggles, gaffaws and lots of rib-tickling laughter when the festival returns from the 26th October to the 2nd November, 2019.
