Wild Earth Movement is inviting people to step out of hibernation and into a calm, creative space with a free Weekend Wellbeing Workshop focused on junk journalling.

Feedback is more than a form at the end of a project. It is how ideas grow, how trust is built and how creative work stays responsive to the people it is made with.

Earlier this month, a warm and welcoming space was created in the Black Country as the Beyond One Culture event brought people together for a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture and connection. Supported through our Creative Communities strand, the one day event invited people from across the region to share in live music, performance, art and food, creating an atmosphere that felt open, joyful and deeply human.

Anthony L. Hansle is developing a digital collage project that explores Black identity through layered imagery, archival photography, and contemporary digital processes. Building on a foundation of traditional collage and photography, his work translates tactile methods into digital formats, creating immersive compositions that connect past and present while inviting open interpretation.

2025 was a year of momentum, connection and meaningful creative activity for Creative Black Country. Across towns, neighbourhoods and shared spaces, creativity showed up in everyday places, shaped by local voices and delivered with partners who know their communities best.

This year we welcomed Zahara Foster as our Project & Event Support Intern for 2025. Zahara joined us via the University of Birmingham’s B-Experienced Internship Programme and was mentored throughout by our Fundraising Manager Yvonne.

There was another brilliant session with Lifegate as participants explored the heritage of Adire, the traditional Yoruba tie and dye technique that dates back to the 1800s.

We are delighted to introduce Megan Parker as the Project Lead for Three Fifteen in Tipton. Megan brings a bright mix of local knowledge, creative energy and hands on experience to the role, and her passion for storytelling and community connection shines through everything she does.

Earlier this year, we commissioned a project with Misfits Music through our Creative Communities strand, to work with their Tipton Rock Collective, an inclusive community rock group for adults that meet regularly to rehearse and perform rock music in Tipton, Sandwell.

Black Country Digital Firsts returns with a new group of artists, makers, performers, and creative organisations who are experimenting with technology in bold and imaginative ways. This cohort brings together a wide range of practices including sound design, textile tech, projection mapping, animation, interactive storytelling, and digital poetry.
